Vocal Music Goals and Mission Statement
To provide the necessary skills and opportunities for the encouragement of lifelong learning and appreciation of choral and vocal music by: - developing and enhancing musicianship and artistry through a variety of music literature.
- discovering and exploring the fundamentals of singing.
- developing proficiency and literacy in the reading and interpretation of music.
- emphasizing professional standards of rehearsal and performance practice.
- providing high quality performances for the community.
Mission Statement: Students who have been in the GHHS Vocal Music Department should be able to make a smooth transition into a collegiate, community or other adult choir with the experience necessary to be a competent and educated member. They should be able to take part in and/or listen to choral performances with understanding, appreciation for and enjoyment of the art form.

Featuring solos, duets and ensemble performances given by high school vocal music members,
with special appearances by all district choirs.

Theatre Opportunities All students in grades 9-12 are eligible to audition for the annual Fall Play and the annual Musical. Auditions for the Fall Play are held in September, and musical auditions are held in late October or early November. Audition information packets will be available in advance on the vocal music bulletin board. 2010 Fall Play- The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
